Job summary

UW Health is seeking a Reimbursement Representative to support the revenue cycle by following up on outstanding balances with payers and patients. The role requires familiarity with medical terminology and insurance concepts, with Epic experience preferred.

You will verify coverage details and update registrations, contribute to timely billing, and help ensure accurate claim processing. Hybrid work arrangement applies for Wisconsin and Illinois applicants.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in insurance, finance, medical, hospital, or customer service-related field.
• Revenue Cycle experience and knowledge of medical and insurance terminology is preferred.
• CPT, ICD coding structures, and UB/1500 forms familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Follow up with third party payers and patients on outstanding account balances to facilitate prompt resolution.
• Verify patient coverage information and update registration as required.

This is a 40 hours per week position and is hybrid. Expected work hours are an 8-hour shift between the hours of 5am to 7pm, Monday - Friday. Onsite requirements will be discussed in the interview process. This position is hybrid for applicants in Wisconsin and Illinois. The onsite location is 7974 UW Health Court, Middleton, WI.

• Follow up with third party payers and patients on outstanding account balances (including credit balances) to facilitate prompt resolution of outstanding account balances.
• Verify patient coverage information and update registration as required.

Education

• Minimum - High School Diploma or equivalent
• Preferred - Associate’s Degree in Business, Finance, Health Information Management, or related field.

Work Experience

• One (1) year of experience in an insurance, finance, medical, hospital, or customer service-related field is required.
• Revenue Cycle (healthcare business, financial or insurance) experience, Epic experience and knowledge of medical and insurance terminology, CPT, ICD coding structures, and billing forms (UB, 1500) preferred
