Qualifications

• Associate degree required; equivalent combination of education and 3-5 years in healthcare acceptable.
• Certification in coding required.
• Minimum two years supervisory experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and third‑party insurance reimbursement.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate activities of Reimbursement Coordinators/Specialists in Reimbursement Workqueues.
• Create and maintain a supportive team environment to maximize reimbursement.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality of patient health information.
• Participate in professional development to stay current with healthcare practices.
• Provide staff development related to coding training and education.
• Prioritize and assign work and coordinate PTO coverage.
• Coordinate with Director, Reimbursement on workqueue changes.
• Analyze and troubleshoot complex reimbursement problems.
• Train staff and follow up on complex reimbursement issues.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state/third‑party payer contracts.
• Develop and create policies and procedures.
• Handle human resources activities: recruiting, interviewing, hiring, performance appraisals, development plans, disciplinary actions.
