Job summary

At Duly Health and Care, a Rehabilitation Technician is needed at the Joliet North Creek clinic. This part-time role (20 hours/week) supports physical and occupational therapy services with supervision from PT/OT providers, assisting with exercise setup and modality delivery.

Travel to other sites for coverage is expected, and clinical operations include front-end tasks, patient check-in, and scheduling. The position requires CPR, a high school diploma, and strong communication and teamwork

Qualifications

• CPR certification required (certification offered through Duly Health and Care)
• High School Diploma
• Knowledge of common medical terminology and abbreviations.
• Understand principles, as well as contraindications/precautions in the use of therapy modalities.
• Can identify proper patient set-up on each piece of equipment with the ability to adjust.
• Identify planes of movement and demonstrate proper exercise positioning.
• Team-oriented.
• Attention to detail and follow-through.
• Problem solving, lateral thinking and reasoning skills.
• Communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Patient care, support, and guidance
• Execute plans of care under guidance of PT/OT providers.
• Proper set up and adjustment of exercise equipment.
• Assist with set up and delivery of modalities (e.g., electrical stimulation, ultrasound, hot/cold packs, etc.)
• Utilize appropriate educational techniques including demonstration and cueing to ensure patient understanding of exercises.
• Monitor patient safety and response to exercise intensity.
• Discuss patient performance with PT/OT provider.
• Clinic flow
• Monitor patient arrivals to department.
• Start patients on time for scheduled appointments/keep patients apprised of any clinician delays.
• Maintain cleanliness of clinic, including waiting areas, exam rooms, and all equipment.
• Order all supplies to keep clinic stocked, under direction from Manager.
• Front end tasks
• Perform necessary front-end tasks including but not limited to check-in, co-pay/financial responsibility collection, answering phones, and scheduling future appointments.
• Communicate via chat with PT/OT and Chiropractic referral team regarding patient insurance benefits.
• Schedule management for clinicians (i.e., patient confirmation calls, rescheduling patients as needed).
