Job description

Department: Physical Therapy - Inpatient

Location: Lawrence, MA

Shift Hours: 6am to 10am, 7:00am - 3:00pm. This position is exclusively for inpatient services on weekends.

Scheduled Hours per Week: 8 hours

Position Overview: As a Rehab Technician, under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist, you will assist in patient care, treatment, and perform organizational and clerical duties within the department. You will also be responsible for managing the supply, distribution, and use of specialized and orthopedic equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Greet all patients, family members, and staff courteously and professionally.
  2. Assist in implementing rehab treatment programs as planned and directed by the Physical/Occupational Therapist.
  3. Prepare, clean, organize, and maintain rehab equipment, modalities, and mats to ensure supplies are adequate, clean, and properly used, while tracking inventory as needed.
  4. Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work area to ensure patient privacy.
  5. Distribute laundry supplies for the rehab clinic to ensure proper requisition and supply levels.
  6. Escort patients to and from treatment areas and assist with ambulation, transfers, and positioning under supervision.
  7. Follow departmental guidelines in modality setup under the supervision of the therapist.
  8. Perform basic clerical duties such as typing, scheduling, recording statistics, filing, copying/scanning, and chart reviews as directed by the Supervisor or Manager.
Education and Experience:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Preferred:

  • Previous healthcare experience
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish with interpreter certification or ability to pass a language screening for Medical Interpreter Certification course
