Job summary

State of Washington, through the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, seeks a Rehabilitation Technician 1 to support counselors and participants. The role blends front-desk customer service with behind-the-scenes case management and eligibility tasks, contributing to meaningful employment goals for individuals with disabilities.

The technician will handle intake, information gathering, scheduling, and liaison duties with vendors, interpreters, and staff.

Qualifications

• Two years of college-level coursework and at least one year of direct customer service experience.
• Combination of education and relevant experience may substitute for the required qualifications.
• Note: Employees must meet mandatory training requirements specified by the DVR policy on the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse and often disadvantaged backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide general office support with front desk responsibilities, including greeting participants and managing reception.
• Explain vocational rehabilitation programs and eligibility requirements to prospective participants.
• Enter new applications into the Case Management System within five days of signing an application.
• Assist in gathering information for the Individual Plan for Employment and contacting vendors for quotes.
• Monitor participant progress and maintain regular contact to support engagement in the rehabilitation plan.
• Schedule appointments with interpreters, service providers, and VRCs; assist with case movement and eligibility documentation.
