Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services seeks a qualified SAP Specialist to develop Skill Acquisition Plans for individuals at the Rio Grande State Supported Living Center. You will collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team to create effective SAPs and train Direct Support Professionals in implementing the plans.

You will review assessments, monitor progress, and update training aids to ensure high fidelity and safety.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in rehabilitation, psychology, sociology, social work, education, or related field; or
• Bachelor's degree in same fields with 1 year IDD experience; or
• High school diploma with 2 years IDD experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops SAPs to teach skills for reentry or independence.
• Reviews health records and IDT input for plan development.
• Administers and scores assessments to guide SAPs and training.
• Trains DSPs to implement SAPs and updates materials as needed.
• Ensures safety and fidelity through monitoring and documentation.
