Job summary

The Rehabilitation Psychologist at Bancroft in Toms River, NJ, will provide direct and consultative psychological and neuropsychological services in-person within adult brain injury and residential/day programs.

Responsibilities include assessments, individual and group psychotherapy, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, families, and staff to promote meaningful recovery and quality of care.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Psychology, or related field required for current NJ licensure.
  • Ability to effectively communicate medical information, test results, diagnoses and proposed treatment.
  • Knowledge of psychosocial counseling techniques, test administration/interpretation, and assessment skills.
  • Knowledge of state/federal laws, regulations and standards for psychosocial services.
  • CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Prevention and Intervention certification within first 90 days; valid driver's license; minimum 18 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychological and neuropsychological assessment, treatment, and consultation per licensing/organizational standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop individualized rehabilitation plans.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor evidence-based treatment plans and behavioral interventions.
  • Provide individual and group psychotherapy tailored to each client's cognitive, emotional, and functional needs.
  • Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams, families, and residential staff to promote rehabilitation outcomes.
  • Develop and evaluate behavioral intervention plans and positive supports.
  • Provide crisis assessment/intervention using approved de-escalation techniques.
  • Maintain clinical documentation and progress notes in compliance with regulations.
  • Train and mentor staff, caregivers, and team members on rehabilitation best practices.
  • Participate in treatment planning, quality improvement, and clinical case reviews.
  • Supervise practicum students, interns, and postdoctoral fellows as assigned.
  • Maintain licensure and certifications and uphold confidentiality (HIPAA).
  • Perform other related clinical and administrative duties.

Salary: $80.000.00 -$118.000.00

Our services include special education, vocational training, supported employment, structured day programs, group home and apartment programs both on-campus and in the community, and outpatient rehabilitation services.

Position Summary

Provides direct, consultative, and supportive assessment and therapeutic services in psychotherapy and cognitive rehabilitation therapy to persons served and outpatients to enhance individual potential for learning and to meet the specific rehabilitation needs of persons served.

Responsibilities
  • Provide psychological and neuropsychological assessment, treatment, and consultation services in compliance with applicable licensing, regulatory, ethical, and organizational standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological, cognitive, behavioral, and neuropsychological assessments to develop individualized treatment recommendations and rehabilitation plans.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor evidence-based treatment plans, behavioral interventions, and measurable therapeutic goals.
  • Provide individual and group psychotherapy using appropriate therapeutic techniques based on each individual's cognitive, emotional, developmental, and functional needs.
  • Consult with interdisciplinary teams, families, residential staff, educators, and healthcare providers to coordinate care and promote successful rehabilitation outcomes.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate behavioral intervention plans and provide guidance on positive behavior supports and skill development.
  • Provide crisis assessment, intervention, and consultation, utilizing approved de-escalation and crisis management techniques.
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation, assessment reports, treatment plans, progress notes, and behavioral data in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Train and mentor staff, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members on behavioral strategies, treatment implementation, and rehabilitation best practices.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, treatment planning, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical case reviews.
  • Supervise and provide clinical guidance to practicum students, interns, and postdoctoral fellows, as assigned.
  • Maintain current licensure, required certifications, and continuing education while adhering to ethical standards, confidentiality requirements (HIPAA), and organizational policies.
  • Perform other related clinical, consultative, and administrative duties as assigned in support of rehabilitation services and organizational goals.
Qualifications
Education & Experience

Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Psychology, or a related psychological field required for current licensure by the State of New Jersey.

Special Skills

Ability to effectively communicate medical information, test results, diagnoses and/or proposed treatment in a manner easily understood is required. Knowledge of psychosocial counseling techniques, educational development test administration and interpretation, and interviewing and psychological/developmental assessment skills required. Knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations, policies, and standards pertaining to the provision of psychosocial services to disabled individuals required.

Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required with a strong desire to work with neurologically-challenged individuals. Ability to work independently and as an integral part of a team required. Ability to implement crisis intervention techniques required. Attainment of CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Prevention and Intervention certification within first 90 days of employment required. Valid driver's license required in incumbent's legal name and current address with no provisional restrictions. Minimum 18 years of age required.
