Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Rehabilitation Patient Access Specialist Float 1 to support Rehabilitation Services and satellite locations. You will greet patients and staff, handle calls, process scheduling in EPIC, and manage appointments efficiently.

The role requires EPIC experience, strong front-office skills, and the ability to coordinate with department leadership to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate records.

Qualifications

• Two years' front office experience with computer use.
• High School diploma completed.
• EPIC training for scheduling and registration completed.

Responsibilities

• Act as receptionist for the department, greeting staff and customers.
• Answer department phone calls, relay messages clearly to staff.
• Communicate effectively with all staff and department customers.
• Take on special projects as needed.
• Prioritize and complete work quickly as department needs change.
• Coordinate clerical work with senior staff (coordinator/manager/director).
• Process department invoices/purchase requests with appropriate staff.
• Maintain appropriate supplies levels for the department.
• Manage the Department Appointment Report (DAR) in EPIC.
• Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient visits at Rehabilitation Services.
• Complete daily EPIC-related tasks and end-of-day processing.
• Identify patient MRN to avoid duplicate records and update demographics and billing info.
• Monitor and manage Rehabilitation Work Queues and patient orders for authorization.
