Job summary

Craig Hospital in Englewood, CO is seeking a Rehabilitation Engineer I to design, modify, and apply rehabilitative devices and assistive technologies to improve patient independence and safety.

You will collaborate with clinical teams to develop solutions for wheelchairs, seating, adaptive equipment, and related products, using CAD, additive manufacturing, and traditional machining. A bachelor's in mechanical engineering and 1–3 years' experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field required.
• 1–3 years experience in medical device, adaptive equipment or product design preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and professional communication in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Generate project specifications and requirements for adaptive equipment.
• Design, build and test solutions with patients.
• Manufacture equipment using machine tools and outside services.
• Write user manuals and production procedures.
• Interface with patients to install and educate on adaptive equipment.
• Provide assistive technology consultation and assessment for patients and families.
• Modify, assemble and install commercial adaptive equipment per instructions and quality standards.
• Track costs and time for activities and coordinate with Business Office for billing.
• Perform diagnostics/maintenance/repair of clinical equipment; document procedures.
