Job summary

The Office of Workforce Development and Louisiana Rehabilitation Services support this effort, with a focus on integrated employment and community independence through counseling, training, and collaboration with employers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus one year of experience in rehabilitation services, social services, administrative services, therapy services, or nursing.
• Bachelor’s degree in a rehabilitation field, social sciences, social work, education, nursing, health and human services, speech therapy, or business administration.
• Master’s degree as an alternative qualification.

Responsibilities

• Schedules interviews to assess functional limitations and vocational potential.
• Determines eligibility for rehabilitation services after evaluations.
• Coordinates plan of rehabilitation with vocational guidance, training, and services.
• Maintains knowledge of accommodations/technology to remove barriers to employment.
• Interacts with the consumer to assess needs and help improve interpersonal skills and achievement.
• Provides counseling to consumers, family members, and others about the vocational plan.
• Maintains caseload flow and organization.
• Schedules supervisory meetings and manages public funds expenditure.
• Maintains a network of employer contacts and labor market information.
• Other duties as assigned; travel may be required.
