Job summary

Louisiana Works seeks a Rehabilitation Counselor-Entry to perform casework and help individuals with disabilities achieve and advance in employment across statewide locations in Louisiana.

The role requires a bachelor's degree (or master's) with relevant experience and travel as needed. The Office of Workforce Development oversees programs to improve economic mobility and connect job seekers with employers, with emphasis on inclusive, competitive employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in rehabilitation services, social services, administrative services, therapy services, or nursing.
• Bachelor's degree in a rehabilitation field, social sciences field, social work, education, nursing, health and human services, speech therapy, or business administration.
• A master's degree.

Responsibilities

• Schedules interviews to assess functional limitations and vocational potential.
• Determines eligibility for rehabilitation services after reviewing evaluations.
• Coordinates plan of rehabilitation including guidance, training, and services to achieve employment.
• Maintains knowledge of accommodations/technology to remove barriers to employment.
• Interacts with consumers to assess needs and determine vocational solutions.
• Provides counseling to consumers, family members, and others about the vocational plan and outcomes.
• Maintains caseload flow and organization.
• Schedules supervisory meetings and manages communications and public funds.

Education

Bachelor's degree + 1 year experience in rehabilitation services or related fields
