Job summary

Adventist Health in Hawaii seeks a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our in-home or acute care teams. You will assist licensed physical therapists in delivering evidence-based therapy, using modalities and therapeutic exercises to improve patient mobility and function.

You will educate patients and caregivers, document treatments, and participate in ongoing quality and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in therapy in an acute care environment, acute therapy unit and/or out patient setting.
• CPR certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy.
• Performs physical therapy treatments, including the use of modalities, manual techniques and common exercise techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provides education and training to patients and caregivers, while incorporating learning style preferences.
• Assesses education and training responses.
• Documents employee and out-patient treatments, as necessary.

Experience in therapy in an acute care environment, acute therapy unit and/or out patient setting: Physical Therapy Assistant licensure in all applicable states of practice: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Performs physical therapy treatments, including the use of modalities, manual techniques and common exercise techniques. Documents employee and out-patient treatments, as necessary.

Provides education and training to patients and caregivers, while incorporating learning style preferences. Assesses education and training responses.
