Job summary

Adventist Health in Hawaii seeks a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our home health and hospice teams. You will deliver PT treatments under licensed therapist supervision, using modalities, manual techniques, and exercise programs to support patients in both acute and outpatient settings.

You will educate patients and caregivers, document progress, and participate in safety and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Requires PTA licensure in applicable states.
• CPR or BLS certification required.
• Experience in acute care, outpatient, or inpatient rehab preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments under supervision of licensed therapists.
• Document treatments and patient progress, including outcomes.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises and home programs.

Education and Work Experience:

Experience in therapy in an acute care environment, acute therapy unit and/or out patient setting: Physical Therapy Assistant licensure in all applicable states of practice: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Performs physical therapy treatments, including the use of modalities, manual techniques and common exercise techniques. Documents employee and out-patient treatments, as necessary.

Provides education and training to patients and caregivers, while incorporating learning style preferences. Assesses education and training responses.
