Job summary

YellowStoneRiver is seeking a Staff Occupational Therapist Assistant to assist the Staff Occupational Therapist with resident care in a hospital or facility setting. The role involves documenting according to regulations and supporting a safe treatment environment.

The position requires an Accredited COTA program diploma, proficiency with Net Health and Point Click Care, and strong communication skills to coordinate with the care team. This is an on-site role with full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree from an accredited COTA program.
• Proficient in computer skills such as inputting data into programs for Net Health and Point Click Care.
• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Treat residents as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment by following infection control, safety, and equipment maintenance protocols.
• Participate in Resident Care conferences and/or Rehabilitation meetings as needed.
• Assist nursing with training of Restorative Aides.
• Communicate with the supervising OT to update physicians, nursing staff, and families.
• Provide in-services on training programs for staff.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment goals and home exercise programs.
• Recommend and facilitate ordering of durable medical equipment.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents' and company information.
• Report problems with department equipment.
• Contribute to quality assurance and rehabilitation program development.
• Relate positively with residents, families, staff, and colleagues.
