Job summary

ELKHORN is seeking a Staff Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to support the Staff Occupational Therapist in resident care. The role emphasizes accurate documentation, infection control, and safety while coordinating with the care team.

The position requires an OTA license, an associate degree, and proficiency with Net Health and PointClickCare. You will educate residents and families and participate in care conferences to optimize discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited COTA program.
• Proficient with Net Health and Point Click Care.

Responsibilities

• Treat residents as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation per requirements.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment following infection control and safety protocols.
• Participate in Resident Care conferences and rehabilitation meetings.
• Assist nursing with training of Restorative Aides.
• Communicate with supervising OT for updates to physicians and staff.
• Provide in-services on training programs for staff.
• Educate residents and families on treatment goals and home exercise programs.
• Recommend and facilitate durable medical equipment as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents and company information.
• Report issues with department equipment for proper maintenance.
• Contribute to quality assurance and program development.
• Relate positively with residents, families, staff, and colleagues.
