Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Outpatient Facility Coder to accurately assign ICD-10-CM codes for recurring visits, physical therapy, and wound care within a facility setting. The role requires facility coding expertise and AHIMA/AAPC credentials, with a focus on maintaining high quality and productivity.

You will abstract data for billing and regulatory databases, review records fordocumentation to support facility charges, and communicate with providers to ensure proper diagnoses and E/M levels.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of outpatient facility coding experience.
• Experience coding recurring visits, PT, and wound care.
• Facility coding expertise with accurate documentation.
• Ability to meet 95% quality accuracy and productivity targets.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM codes for medical records, including diagnoses.
• Abstract key data elements for billing and regulatory databases.
• Review records for clinical pertinence to support facility charges.
• Clarify documentation with providers for appropriate E/M levels.
• Review and resolve claim edits related to medical necessity and NCCI/CCI edits.
• Assist with resolution of simple visit coding errors as needed.
• Demonstrate courtesy and professionalism in interactions with staff and providers.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per policy and standards; participate in trainings.
