Job summary

New England Baptist's Outpatient Rehabilitation Center in Chestnut Hill is seeking a dedicated assistant to provide Physical Therapy support under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. You will help with exercises, patient instruction, documentation, and infection control while assisting with administrative duties.

Ideal candidates hold a related Bachelor's degree and BLS/Heart Saver certification, with flexibility to travel to Dedham as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related field such as Exercise Physiology or Athletic Training.
• American Heart Association Heart Saver certification or BLS required.
• Ability to work under the guidance and direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
• Ability to travel to Dedham on an as-needed basis.
• Ability to provide patient instruction, document performance, report patient responses, maintain supplies, perform administrative duties, and comply with infection control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing Physical Therapy services under guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Support a mixed patient population including Spine Center, post-operative, and general orthopedic injuries.
• Provide delegated treatments, routine exercises, functional activities, flexibility and strength measurements.
• Instruct patients on correct exercise form and equipment usage.
• Orient new patients to equipment and its use.
• Document patient performance in daily flow sheets.
• Report patient responses to treatment to the primary therapist.
• Maintain departmental supply inventory.
• Assist with telephone answering, copying materials, and other office duties.
• Support infection control by changing linen, cleaning mats and equipment, and clearing clutter.
• Travel to the Dedham Outpatient Care Center as needed.

Requirements
