Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Boston is seeking a Rehab Aide to assist licensed physical therapists in our outpatient rehabilitation center in Chestnut Hill. You will help with patient exercises, provide instruction, and support daily treatment duties for a mix of spine, post-operative, and orthopedic patients, with occasional travel to Dedham.

Under supervision, you will document progress, support equipment usage, maintain supplies, and help with administrative tasks while upholding infection

Qualifications

• Under supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree Preferred, preferably in related field, e.g., Exercise Physiology or Athletic Training.

Responsibilities

• Provides delegated treatments to NEBH patients under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
• Provides follow up of routine specific exercises.
• Provides follow up of functional activities, flexibility and strength measurements under therapist guidance.
• Provides patients with proper instruction and teaches correct exercise form to avoid injury.
• Provides orientation to new patients on correct equipment and usage.
• Under therapist direction, documents patient performance in daily flow sheets.
• Reports patient responses to treatment in a timely manner to the primary therapist.
• Maintains an inventory of departmental supplies in quantity sufficient for daily operation.
• Assists with administrative duties such as answering telephone, copying materials, and other office duties as needed.
• Assists with compliance with Infection Control Policy. This will include changing of linen, cleaning mats/equipment and general clearing of clutter.
• Utilizes free time in a productive manner.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree Preferred, preferably in related field, e.g., Exercise Physiology or Athletic Training

Job Description

Under the guidance of a Licensed Physical Therapist, assists in the provision of Physical Therapy services to the patients of New England Baptist's Outpatient Rehabilitation Center in Chestnut Hill. Patient population is a mix of Spine Center patients, post-operative patients as well as patients from other referring sources with general orthopedic injuries as per written orders within the established policies of this department and New England Baptist Hospital. The candidate may also be required to travel to New England Baptist's Outpatient Care Center in Dedham on an as needed basis.

Principal Duties And Essential Functions

Pay Range

$20.00 - $26.92

American Heart Association Heart Saver certification or BLS required

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
