Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Rehab Aide to support the Outpatient Rehabilitation Center. Under the guidance of a Licensed Physical Therapist, you will assist in delivering physical therapy services to patients at the Chestnut Hill location, with potential travel to Dedham for coverage as needed.

The role involves helping with exercises, patient instruction, and daily documentation. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, and BLS/Heart Saver certification is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred in related field (e.g., Exercise Physiology or Athletic Training).
• American Heart Association Heart Saver or BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides delegated treatments to patients under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
• Assists with follow-up of exercises, functional activities, and measurements.
• Instructs patients on correct form and usage of equipment to prevent injury.
• Documents patient performance in daily flow sheets under therapist direction.
• Assists with administrative duties and inventory to support daily operations.
• Adheres to infection control policies and maintains clean, organized patient areas.

REHAB AIDE Job Description: Under the guidance of a Licensed Physical Therapist, assists in the provision of Physical Therapy services to the patients of New England Baptist's Outpatient Rehabilitation Center in Chestnut Hill. Patient population is a mix of Spine Center patients, post-operative patients as well as patients from other referring sources with general orthopedic injuries as per written orders within the established policies of this department and New England Baptist Hospital. The candidate may also be required to travel to New England Baptist's Outpatient Care Center in Dedham on an as needed basis.

Principal Duties and Essential Functions:

• Provides delegated treatments to NEBH patients under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist: Provides follow up of routine specific exercises.
• Provides follow up of functional activities, flexibility and strength measurements under therapist guidance.
• Provides patients with proper instruction and teaches correct exercise form to avoid injury.
• Provides orientation to new patients on correct equipment and usage.
• Under therapist direction, documents patient performance in daily flow sheets.
• Reports patient responses to treatment in a timely manner to the primary therapist.
• Performs non-treatment related activities: Maintains an inventory of departmental supplies in quantity sufficient for daily operation.
• Assists with administrative duties such as answering telephone, copying materials, and other office duties as needed.
• Assists with compliance with Infection Control Policy. This will include changing of linen, cleaning mats/equipment and general clearing of clutter.
• Utilizes free time in a productive manner.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree Preferred, preferably in related field, eg. Exercise Physiology or Athletic Training American Heart Association Heart Saver certification or BLS required

Pay Range: $20.00 - $26.92 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
