Job summary

BMO Harris Bank is seeking an Associate for Registrations & Governance to support the implementation, maintenance and administration of compliance programs. You will work with business partners and stakeholders to identify and mitigate regulatory risks, support compliance reporting, and contribute to effective oversight.

Responsibilities include oversight of compliance controls, risk assessments, issue management, and advisory support on regulatory developments.

Qualifications

• Typically 3 to 5 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field.
• Recognized compliance certificate or equivalent preferred.
• Proficient knowledge of consumer protection and related marketing and advertising guidelines.
• Proficient knowledge of a compliance field.
• Strong knowledge of business operations, procedures and activities involving documented practices.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, relationship management and project management skills.
• Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.
• Verbal and written communication skills, in-depth.
• Collaboration and team skills, in-depth.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, in-depth.
• Influence skills, in-depth.

Responsibilities

• Provides guidance on implementing solutions to manage regulatory risk.
• Conducts and challenges risk assessments and identifies effective controls.
• Performs monitoring and testing to ensure regulatory compliance controls.
• Supports root cause analysis for material control failures.
• Analyses risks and recommends appropriate controls.
• Communicates the roles of the three lines of defense and regulatory risk.
