Job summary

Underdog is building a regulatory reporting data platform from scratch. You’ll own the data platform powering our prediction markets business, partnering with engineering, product, compliance, and senior leadership. The role focuses on automated, scalable pipelines and audit-ready reporting.

You’ll design dbt models, implement validations, and lead regulatory exam responses while guiding the data strategy across teams, working in a remote-first environment with periodic in-person gatherings.

Qualifications

• Build a data platform for regulatory reporting with end-to-end ownership.
• Write modular dbt models and robust SQL with tests.
• Communicate with regulatory bodies and translate requirements into data definitions.
• Own automated validations, pipelines, and on-call framework.
• Experience with data contracts or upstream data dependencies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own requirements for the regulatory reporting data platform with regulators.
• Design and architect dbt models and pipelines connected to raw data.
• Define automated validation layer and test cases for outputs.
• Lead audit and exam support and represent the team to regulators.
• Drive root-cause investigations and establish permanent fixes.
• Lead the on-call rotation framework for the team.
• Monitor upstream data changes and govern through the reporting layer.
• Own roadmap for surveillance reporting and pre-launch validation.
