Interns will summarize filings in regulatory proceedings, research policies related to the electric transmission industry, support advocacy efforts on transmission policy initiatives, and develop an understanding of the Company’s key initiatives and regulatory issues of interest.

Qualifications

• Entering Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year at a 4-year college or university.
• Substantial coursework in one or more of the following: political science, public policy, economics, accounting, finance, business, and/or engineering.
• Interest in public policy and regulation of the utility industry.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to understand and convey complex information clearly, concisely, and effectively.
• Logical approach to problem solving and the ability to thoroughly research issues and analyze various types of information.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and complete the work necessary to meet deadlines.
• Ability to effectively use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer. ITC does not sponsor employment visas, such as H-1B or TN visas.

Responsibilities

• Summarize filings made in regulatory proceedings and orders issued by regulatory authorities, with a focus on impact to the Company.
• Research federal, state and regional policies related to the electric transmission industry.
• Provide support to the regulatory team’s advocacy efforts on transmission policy initiatives.
• Develop an understanding of the Company’s key initiatives and identify regulatory issues of interest to the Company
