Job summary

ITC Midwest offers a Summer 2027 Internship Program to gain practical experience supporting strategic initiatives and external engagement. The External Affairs Intern will assist in communications, AI-enabled research, and stakeholder engagement across ITC Midwest's service territory.

The 12-week program includes exposure to Business Strategy, Strategic Communications, Local/State Government Affairs, Community Relations, and Energy Policy awareness, with 40-hour weeks and authorization to work

Qualifications

Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Communications, Public Relations, Public Administration, Business, or related field.
Ability to travel to locations in Iowa as needed.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite of products.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing communications materials, messaging plans, and outreach strategies.
Use AI and emerging tools to conduct research and prepare briefs for leadership.
Monitor industry trends and stakeholder concerns to identify opportunities and challenges.
Prepare executive summaries and presentations communicating insights and recommendations.
Support community outreach and stakeholder engagement for major infrastructure projects.
Plan and support company-sponsored employee events and community programs.
Support local/state outreach, charitable gives, and public events.
