Job summary

Blumen Systems is building the regulatory intelligence layer for how America builds energy and critical infrastructure. You will turn complex regulations into structured data that powers automation and compliance workflows across multiple jurisdictions.

We're looking for an environmental permitting professional who thrives on detail, writes clearly, and can balance deep regulatory analysis with scalable data modeling to support our product across the US energy landscape.

Qualifications

  • You've worked in permitting, environmental compliance, land use, or regulatory analysis for several years.
  • You're exceptionally detail-oriented and notice inconsistencies others miss.
  • You think critically instead of working down a checklist.
  • You can get your bearings quickly in an unfamiliar regulatory framework.
  • You write clearly, concisely, and with precision.
  • You separate observation from conclusion, and surface problems before proposing solutions.
  • You enjoy turning complex information into simple, scalable systems.
  • You're comfortable balancing repetitive quality control with independent critical thinking.
  • You want to build a software product, not produce one-off consulting deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Research and interpret federal, state, and local regulations across jurisdictions
  • Structure and tag regulatory information so it can power automation and compliance workflows
  • Review and quality-check Blumen's regulatory datasets for accuracy and completeness
  • Find the ambiguity, edge cases, and contradictions others miss, then define how we handle them
  • Communicate product gaps, workflow problems, and data quality issues clearly to engineering and product
  • Work alongside engineers, product managers, and domain experts to turn complex regulations into structured logic
  • Build the internal methodologies, documentation, and quality standards this work runs on
