Job summary

Gilbarco Veeder-Root, a Vontier company, seeks a Regulatory Engineer to secure NA product approvals, manage lifecycle compliance, and guide labeling and regulatory strategies. The role interfaces with agencies, labs, and cross-functional teams to deliver timely certifications and sustainment activities.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in regulatory roles, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects across a global framework, with up to 15% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent professional experience.
• Two or more years in regulatory/compliance roles; familiarity with oil and gas regulatory requirements preferred.
• Fluent in English with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational/time management abilities.
• Proven ability to collaborate within cross-functional/multicultural teams and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with regulatory agencies and third-party testing labs (e.g., UL) to secure new product approvals.
• Lead regulatory projects from RFQ through final certification, with emphasis on on-time delivery.
• Maintain and manage existing product approvals across the lifecycle for continuous compliance.
• Provide guidance on product labeling requirements and review labels for accuracy and compliance.
• Develop and maintain relationships with government and private agencies to facilitate certifications and sustaining activities.
• Serve as regulatory and compliance SME for the North American market.
• Communicate project status and deliverables to senior management.
• Support regulatory file and database maintenance for rapid access to approvals/ renewals.
• Interpret standards/regulations and provide clear guidance to cross-functional teams.
• Participate in regulatory/standards panels as required.
• Engage in continuous improvement to enhance regulatory processes.
• Support execution of global regulatory strategy initiatives.
• Travel up to 15% as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Purpose of Position

The Regulatory Engineer plays a critical role in securing new product approvals and managing ongoing compliance within the fueling industry across the North American market. As the subject matter expert (SME) in regulatory affairs and compliance, this individual supports new product development, sustaining activities including factory audits, and contributes significantly to our global regulatory strategy initiatives.

The ideal candidate possesses experience collaborating with cross-functional teams across both local and international settings. They are dedicated to driving continuous improvement and delivering value through timely project completion. Skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously, they excel at building strong relationships with key regulatory agencies and ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. Additionally, they demonstrate strong abilities in risk assessment, issue management, and fostering effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities
