Job summary

La Rabida Children's Hospital in Chicago, IL seeks a Manager, Regulatory and Emergency Management to lead regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, licensure management, and the hospital's emergency preparedness programs. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Emergency Management, Quality Management, or related field required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in healthcare regulatory compliance, accreditation, quality, patient safety, emergency management, or related operations.
• Experience leading accreditation surveys, regulatory readiness programs, tracers, mock surveys, or emergency preparedness activities required.
• Experience in a hospital setting required.
• Pediatric healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the hospital-wide regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness program.
• Ensure continuous compliance with Joint Commission, CMS Conditions of Participation, Illinois Department of Public Health, and other regulatory standards.
• Lead planning and follow-up activities for accreditation surveys and inspections.
• Serve as liaison for regulatory agencies and coordinate responses to survey findings.
• Oversee licensure, certifications, permits, and regulatory submissions.
• Monitor regulatory changes and communicate new requirements to leaders.
• Conduct regulatory rounds, tracers, mock surveys, and gap assessments.
• Develop corrective action plans and monitor implementation.
• Lead performance improvement initiatives using risk reduction and High Reliability principles.
• Analyze findings to identify trends and inform leadership decisions.
• Develop and maintain compliance dashboards and readiness reports.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Emergency Management Program and EOP.
• Ensure compliance with emergency standards and OSHA.
• Conduct Hazard Vulnerability Analyses and risk assessments.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness activities and manage grants/programs.
• Plan and evaluate emergency training and drills.
• Maintain Hospital Incident Command System and support activation.
• Liaise with healthcare coalitions, public health, and community partners.
• Coordinate communications, surge planning, and continuity of operations.
• Lead after-action reviews and corrective action planning.
