Strategic Government Resources, Inc. is hiring to lead utility compliance for Sarasota County's growing water and wastewater programs.

You will oversee design reviews, permitting, and regulatory adherence to state codes while guiding a team of engineers and inspectors. The role emphasizes updating codes, coordinating with FDOT and DRC meetings, and managing budgets and staff performance to deliver safe, reliable utility infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with four years' related experience.
• Associate's degree with six years' related experience.
• Two years or more of supervisory experience in water/sewer facilities operations.
• Valid Florida driver's license at hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee utility design review, permitting, and compliance with the Public Utilities Uniform Water, Wastewater, and Reclaimed Water System Code.
• Update the Uniform Utility Code and standard utility details to reflect current requirements.
• Direct site/development, utility plan, and permit reviews to ensure policy and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee utility construction permit inspections for residential and commercial projects.
• Manage review/processing of subdivision plats, public utility easements, and CIP projects.
• Coordinate FDOT projects, utility permitting, and UWHCA requirements.
• Represent Public Utilities at DRC meetings and other public meetings.
• Oversee record drawing reviews, certification packages, and year-end closeout reviews.
• Provide technical guidance to Utilities Operations on complex issues.
• Supervise staff, manage budget, and monitor performance metrics.
