Job summary

The State of Missouri invites applications for the Regulatory Auditor position within the Division of Professional Registration, Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors in Jefferson City, MO. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, auditing, risk management or related field (including six semester hours in accounting).
• Up to one year of professional experience in accounting, finance, auditing or insurance.
• Additional qualifying experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis for education deficiencies.
• Knowledge of computer applications such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze preneed contracts between consumers and preneed sellers in the funeral industry.
• Reconcile and evaluate the registration and handling of preneed contract monies and other funds collected.
• Collect, analyze and evaluate evidence for use in legal actions and preparing detailed reports of findings.
• Testify in court and hearings concerning findings of audits.
• Coordinate communication relating to ongoing examinations/audits with other agencies when joint efforts are needed.
