Job summary

The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation's Bureau of Education and Testing seeks a Regulatory Specialist III to manage continuing education monitoring and audits for professions regulated by the department. You will evaluate course materials, respond to inquiries from licensees, prepare correspondence, and assist in audits, contributing to enforcement and public protection.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Florida Statutes board and department rules governing licensing and regulation.
• Knowledge of educational programs.
• Ability to compile, organize and analyze data.
• Ability to understand and apply Florida Statutes rules, policies, and procedures for licensing and regulation of professionals and facilities and consumer protection.
• Ability to provide consultative assistance to others.
• Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work activities.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent education.
• Must have (1) year customer service experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Conducts auditing and monitoring activities on continuing education courses to ensure the information submitted by providers and licensees are complete, accurate, and consistent with the requirements of the profession. Responds to complex telephone and written inquiries from licensees and providers regarding mandatory continuing education requirements. Prepare correspondence as needed.
• Evaluates materials provided by licensees to determine if course information submitted was an approved course. Ensure that daily attendance reports are monitored and providers are notified in writing of any discrepancies. Provide support and advice to Regulatory Specialist I in their daily function. Assist in preparing and conducting random CE compliance audits of licensees for those professions that where the providers are not required to electronically report course attendance roster to the department. Compiles statistical reports as required.
• Prepare correspondence to advise licensees of any deficiencies with their continuing education. Answers inquiry from licensees with regards to the status of their continuing education requirements.
• Performs other related duties as may be required.
