Job summary

American International Industries seeks a Regulatory Assistant to ensure cosmetics formulations, labels and packaging meet federal, state, and international safety and labeling standards. This role bridges manufacturing, product development (R&D), quality assurance, and distributors to clear products for regional and global markets.

You will manage documentation (SDS, CoA, INCI data), review labels for FDA/California compliance, coordinate with suppliers for certificates, support overseas

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with U.S. cosmetic regulations (MoCRA) and basic international standards.

Responsibilities

  • Documentation & Dossier Management: SDS, CoA, INCI data.
  • Label & Artwork Review for FDA/CA compliance and export standards.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for compliance certificates and declarations.
  • Support international distribution registrations and customs clearance.
  • Regulatory tracking of federal, state, and global constraints.

Job description

The Regulatory Assistant helps ensure that all beauty, personal care, and cosmetic formulations, labels, and packaging meet legal safety and labeling standards. This role bridges manufacturing, product development (R&D), quality assurance, and international distributors to clear products for regional and global markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Documentation & Dossier Management: Compile and maintain raw material and finished product files, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Certificates of Analysis (CoA), and International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI) data.
  • Label & Artwork Review: Check product labels, warning statements, and packaging artwork for compliance with U.S. FDA guidelines, California state requirements (such as the California Safe Cosmetics Program), and international export standards.
  • Supplier & Manufacturer Coordination: Request and track compliance certificates, allergen declarations, and IFRA (International Fragrance Association) documentation from raw material suppliers.
  • International Distribution Support: Assist in gathering and organizing technical data packages required by international distributors for overseas market registration and customs clearance.
  • Regulatory Tracking: Monitor database records for shifting federal, state, and global regulatory constraints concerning restricted or clean-beauty ingredients.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Biology, Life Sciences, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in regulatory compliance, quality assurance, or R&D within cosmetics, personal care, or consumer goods manufacturing.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, proficiency in technical writing and database management, and familiarity with U.S. cosmetic regulations (including MoCRA) and basic international standards.
