Job summary

Rare Beauty, based in El Segundo, seeks a Regulatory Coordinator to join the R&D team and ensure product compliance with international cosmetics regulations. You will coordinate safety, regulatory testing, and dossiers while collaborating with marketing, sales, and education teams.

The role emphasizes strong organizational skills, software literacy, and capability to work with suppliers and laboratories in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day regulatory operations (formula review, filings, formula testing, sample shipping, document organization, etc.).
  • Help prepare regulatory dossiers.
  • Help collect formulas and documents from manufacturers to support the product safety and regulatory review process.
  • Assist with international product registrations and global compliance reviews.
  • Help coordinate formula testing samples to send to external labs (micro, safety, and analytical testing).
  • Inputting formula and ingredient information into internal software systems.
  • Updating internal project trackers and project management systems.
  • Help organize digital files and hard copy files.
  • Help organize product testing retains.
  • Support regulatory projects as directed.
  • Some cross functional support for the Product Development team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Assist Product Development team on PCR components transition.
  • Assist with component sampling for regulatory testing purposes.
  • Help collect and manage documentation on components for registration purposes.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Regulatory Coordinator is part of the Research and Development team (R&D). R&D is responsible for assessing ingredient safety and regulatory compliance, coordinating safety, micro, stability, compatibility and claims testing, ensuring product compliance with international cosmetic regulations, and advising the marketing, sales and education teams on claims and technical product information. The R&D team is an integral part of the Product Development team (PD) and works closely with PD to support the technical aspects of product development. This person will report into Rare's Regulatory Specialist and will work closely with internal teams as well as suppliers, contractors, manufacturers, and laboratories. The Rare Beauty Regulatory Coordinator is highly organized, has a strong attention to detail, is comfortable using software systems, and enjoys a fast-paced work environment.

REQUIRMENTS
  • Strength with time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Must be available to be in office up to 3 days a week
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • May need to move product weighing up to 15 pounds across office for various needs
  • Frequently moves about inside the office to access storage rooms, office machinery, etc.
  • Must be able to see product/inventory for packaging/shipping samples to testing labs
  • Will require most of the workday working on the computer
