Job description

Who we are: Club Kuma is a creative studio that partners with clients and creators to brand, design, and manufacture award-winning beauty and personal care hero products. Built on a heritage of creativity and innovation, we are one team, in-house. By delivering elevated design and unparalleled service, we set the trend. Then set it again.

We're committed to building lasting partnerships with all our collaborators, from the creators who inspire our products and brands, to the people we hire to make them. You'll find competitive salaries and benefits with every full-time position, because our team believes in rewarding a job well done.

What we need

We are looking for a regulatory professional who's equally comfortable in the technical weeds of ingredient compliance and the day-to-day operations of getting products to market. You'll work closely with our Director, Quality & Regulatory Affairs to keep our cosmetics, skin care, hair care, intimate care, fragrance, wellness, and OTC products compliant across the full product lifecycle — from formula review through launch.

This is a hands-on role spanning multiple brands, manufacturers, and global markets. You'll manage day-to-day regulatory work independently, and know when to flag the complex or higher-risk stuff to the Director.

What You'll Do
Regulatory Affairs
  • Review formulas, ingredients, and INCI lists for U.S. and international compliance (EU/UK, Canada, Australia/NZ, and others as needed)
  • Research evolving cosmetic regulations and flag potential impacts
  • Support FDA MoCRA listings, California Safe Cosmetics reporting, and international registrations
  • Review labeling and artwork for compliance (ingredient declarations, warnings, claims, responsible party info, etc.)
  • Assess ingredient restrictions, allergens, and market-specific requirements
  • Support compliance against retailer standards (e.g., Sephora Clean, Ulta Conscious Beauty)
  • Maintain technical/regulatory dossiers and supplier documentation (specs, CoAs, SDS, IFRA docs, etc.)
  • Chase down documentation gaps with suppliers and manufacturers
  • Keep regulatory/quality trackers current for launches and existing products
Testing & Quality Support
  • Coordinate third-party testing (stability, micro, PET, safety, claims substantiation, etc.)
  • Track testing timelines and review lab reports for compliance
  • Support quality investigations, CAPAs, and QMS documentation as needed
What You'll Bring
Must-haves:
  • 3-5 years in Regulatory Affairs, ideally in cosmetics or personal care
  • Working knowledge of U.S. cosmetic regulations, including MoCRA
  • Experience reviewing formulas, ingredients, and labeling for compliance
  • Strong organizational skills — you can juggle multiple brands, suppliers, and deadlines without dropping anything
  • Comfortable communicating directly with manufacturers, labs, and cross-functional teams
Nice-to-haves:
  • EU/UK or Canada regulatory experience
  • Familiarity with additional markets (ASEAN, China, Middle East, LatAm)
  • Experience with retailer clean-beauty standards (Target, Walmart, Credo, Goop)
  • Exposure to product testing coordination and QMS/CAPA processes
  • Bachelor's in Chemistry, Biology, Cosmetic Science, or related field
