Job summary

Florida Power & Light Company, a NextEra Energy subsidiary, seeks a regulatory accounting professional to apply FPSC and FERC rules to cost recovery clauses. You will perform monthly journal entries, variance reporting, and support clause filings.

You will interact with auditors, coordinate with Deloitte and internal teams, and help maintain SOX controls while identifying AI-enabled process improvements to boost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA certification is preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of accounting or finance experience.
• Public utility experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with AI tools, automation, or workflow design is a plus.
• Ability to leverage technology to improve reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Apply FPSC and FERC rules to proper regulatory treatment of cost recovery clauses.
• Interact with multiple departments to ensure accurate cost recovery reporting.
• Prepare monthly journal entries for over/under cost recovery calculations.
• Generate cost recovery clause variance reports for filings.
• Coordinate responses to FPSC discovery and related proceedings.
• Maintain month-end and year-end close checklists and reporting.
• Prepare reconciliations for clause accounts and interface with auditors.
• Support GAAP compliance and SOX controls in the financial close.
• Identify and implement AI-enabled tools to improve processes.
