Job summary

Florida Power & Light Company is seeking an experienced Income Tax professional to manage provisions, returns, and related workpapers. You will support reconciliations, deferred tax calculations, and audit responses while contributing to forecasting, budgeting, and tax planning.

The role emphasizes analytical rigor, cross-functional collaboration, and opportunities to automate tax processes using modern tools. A CPA, master’s, or regulated industry exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance required.
• Minimum 2 years of income tax accounting experience.
• Strong analytical and data analysis skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare income tax provisions in accordance with ASC740 and ASC980
• Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns and supporting workpapers
• Support tax accounting reconciliations and deferred tax calculations
• Assist the Tax Controversy Group with audit requests
• Prepare FERC Form 1 filings and related schedules
• Assist with tax forecasts, budgets, and cash tax analyses
• Develop analytical tools and dashboards using Alteryx and other platforms
• Identify opportunities to automate tax and reporting processes
