Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Staff Accountant to maintain accurate accounting and ratemaking records and supporting documentation. You will prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and assist with month-end close and regulatory reporting.

Candidates should have 1–2 years of accounting experience, knowledge of US GAAP, and strong analytical and communication skills. This full-time role is on-site and part of AES's global finance team.

Qualifications

• Degreed candidates in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
• Knowledge of US GAAP.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills and oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions in accordance with GAAP.
• Plans, organizes, and prioritizes work assignments to meet deadlines.
• Compiles, analyzes, and reviews financial information for reports and ratemaking matters.
• Develops, prepares, audits, and reviews reports on a regular monthly, quarterly, and/or annual basis.
• Analyzes, reconciles, and evaluates the accuracy of general ledger accounting details.
• Monitors and ensures compliance with AES policies and internal controls.
