Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Risk Specialist I to drive regulated waste compliance across multiple sites in a fast-paced environment. You will execute environmental compliance plans, conduct site inspections, and surface gaps to improve conformance across sites.

You will work with site leaders, operations, and legal stakeholders to communicate requirements and prioritize fixes, with travel up to 50% as needed. An EHS background and data-driven approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in environmental compliance, regulated waste management, or workplace risk investigations.
• Experience interpreting and applying environmental regulations (RCRA, DOT, and applicable state hazardous waste rules).
• Experience collecting and analyzing data to identify compliance gaps and drive corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Own the execution and delivery of regulated waste compliance projects and activities across supported sites.
• Apply risk management methods such as waste compliance audits and site inspections to monitor thresholds and take corrective action.
• Collaborate with site teams and partners to understand business needs and drive consensus on waste compliance requirements.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and work with owners to improve conformance and reduce risk.
• Prepare clear documentation, including status reports, audits, metrics, and communications.
• Travel expected up to 50%.
