Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
• Knowledge of basic office procedures.
• Skill in basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to accurately collect cash.
• Ability to operate a personal computer, 10-key adding machine, and basic office equipment.
• Ability to accurately enter data.
• Ability to deal with hostile or irrational people.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other County employees, outside organizations and the general public.

Responsibilities

• Greets walk-in customers and collects and processes payments for motor vehicle registration fees or property taxes.
• Transfers ownership of vehicles
• Answers questions such as motor vehicle registration procedures and title transfers
• Processes vehicle registrations and title transfers from automobile dealerships, auto title services, lien holders and the general public
• Verifies and processes franchise dealer bundles and title service bundles
• Issues and processes various forms to obtain special permits, handicapped cards or special license plates
• May assist with counting of all returned motor vehicle inventory supplies
• Performs related duties as required
