Job summary

Charlie Clark Auto Group is seeking an experienced Automotive Title Clerk to join our dealership accounting team. You will process registrations, prepare tax and title documents, and submit transfers to the DMV while ensuring accuracy and deadlines.

Ideal candidates have attention to detail with title processing experience and can handle a fast-paced dealership environment. This on-site role offers opportunities for growth within our accounting department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; 6 months to 1 year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Processes all new and used vehicles for registration in the state in which they will be titled.
• Prepares tax and title documents.
• Submits all legal transfer work to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
• Researches status of registrations as requested by customers and/or sales staff.
• Verifies that funds have been collected and the correct lienholder paid off before processing title applications.
• Checks for accuracy in the application and ensures that all information is complete.
• Reviews, corrects and explains items on Tax Title and License schedules.
• Maintains a system to verify titles.
• Compiles and maintains a complete list of all outstanding title work and reports status to management.
• Cross-trains others to handle title clerk daily responsibilities.
• Maintains a professional appearance and a neat work area.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Position Summary:

• Processes all new and used vehicles for registration in the state in which they will be titled.
• Prepares tax and title documents.
• Submits all legal transfer work to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
• Research status of registrations as requested from customers and/or sales staff
• Verifies that funds have been collected and the correct lienholder paid off before processing title applications.
• Checks for accuracy in the application and ensures that all information is complete.
• Reviews, corrects and explains items on Tax Title and License schedules
• Maintains a system to verify titles.
• Compiles and maintains a complete list of all outstanding title work. Reports to management on the status of any missing or problem titles and provides status of outstanding titles to your manager.
• Cross-trains others to handle title clerk daily responsibilities.
• Maintains a professional appearance and a neat work area.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

• High School or General Education Degree (GED); and six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
