Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients at registration and assist with check-in.
  • Collect, verify, and update demographic and insurance data.
  • Process patient payments and post to accounts accurately.
  • Enter patient information into the EHR system precisely.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and explain coverage requirements.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
  • Maintain HIPAA-compliant confidentiality and security.
  • Communicate with providers and staff to coordinate care.
  • Address patient questions about registration, scheduling, or billing.
  • Keep reception area clean and professional; perform other duties as assigned.

Park DuValle Community Health Center is seeking a Registration Clerk to serve as the first point of contact for our patients. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming experience while ensuring accurate patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, payment collection, and record management. The ideal candidate is professional, compassionate, detail‑oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional customer service in a healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome patients and assist with the registration and check‑in process.
  • Collect, verify, and update demographic, insurance, and other required patient information.
  • Collect, process, and accurately post patient payments to patient accounts.
  • Accurately enter patient information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and assist patients with questions regarding coverage and registration requirements.
  • Schedule appointments and help manage patient flow to support efficient clinic operations.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with providers, clinical staff, and other departments to coordinate patient care.
  • Address patient inquiries and resolve registration, scheduling, or billing‑related concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED; coursework or training in healthcare administration is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a medical office, healthcare setting, or customer service role.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, and electronic medical record systems.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a professional, patient‑centered approach.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
