Job summary

Centerpoint Health - Winchester Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a part-time Float Registrar to collect patient demographics and insurance information for outpatient services. You will expedite registration, collect co-pays and deductibles, and provide a welcoming first impression in a busy healthcare setting.

This float role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment.

What we're looking for

The Registrar is responsible for collecting patient demographic and insurance information for outpatient services. Collect insurance, co-pay, and deductibles at Point of Service. Quickly and efficiently expedites the registration process.Provides a positive first impression of the hospital to the public. This is Float position.

How you'll contribute

• Ensure that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
• Distribute and explain forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients or family members.
• Meet with patient or patient's caregiver before or after admission to exchange necessary information and documentation. Provides explanation of process and addresses concerns and questions.
• Communicate with admitting physician's office, nursing unit staff, and/or other appropriate personnel regarding admission to exchange necessary information and determine placement.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain precertification/authorization as necessary. Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors for follow-up

Education

High School Diploma or GED Preferred; Associate degree preferred.

Certifications

• Handle with Care certification required within 30 days of orientation and maintained annually

Schedule: Part Time Float: Thursday and Fridays 7AM - 4PM or 5:30PM As Needed and Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday 7AM - 4PM or 5:30PMto cover PTO days as needed
