Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health is seeking a Client Intake Coordinator for the Emergency Department in Concord, CA. This full‑time role supports the medical team during emergencies, delivering compassionate client service and accurate intake processing.

You will triage cases, gather histories, document records, and coordinate with veterinarians to ensure smooth patient flow and timely communication throughout visits.

Qualifications

  • Two years of clinical veterinary experience required, emergency or specialty hospital experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and emergency patient care.
  • Excellent communication, client service, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for emergency clients with compassionate service during stressful situations.
  • Triage incoming emergency cases and communicate critical information to the clinical team.
  • Obtain patient histories and accurately document medical information in the electronic medical record.
  • Assist with patient intake, including obtaining vital signs when appropriate.
  • Coordinate closely with veterinarians and technicians to prioritize cases and maintain efficient patient flow.
  • Accurately enter service charges during the intake process to support timely invoicing.
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms for incoming emergency patients.
  • Keep clients informed by providing updates and setting expectations during their visit.
  • Support shift transitions and daily Emergency Department operations.
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to ensure quality care.
  • Contribute to a positive, team‑focused hospital culture.

Up to $32.00/hour (DOE) + $5.50/hour Shift Differential (6:00 PM–6:00 AM)

Schedule: Wednesday–Saturday | 6:00 am - 4:30 pm

In Your Day-to-Day, You Will

What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical veterinary experience required; emergency or specialty hospital experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and emergency patient care.
  • Excellent communication, client service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, organized, and compassionate in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds or more and stand for extended periods.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient and client care.
