Yoh, a Day & Zimmermann company, is hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician (Animal Research) in San Francisco, CA. The role supports animal health and research programs in a laboratory setting, primarily with rodents, with potential cross-species exposure, and may require travel between San Francisco facilities using an employer shuttle. Location: San Francisco, CA.

Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM. Work arrangement: Onsite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Recent Vet Tech/RVT graduates, veterinary assistants, lab research assistants, and science backgrounds encouraged to apply.
• Anesthesia experience required.
• Experience in laboratory, biomedical research, lab management, or animal husbandry advantageous.
• Strong hands-on, documentation, communication and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working with rodents and potentially larger animals.
• Ability to follow SOPs and established research protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conduct animal health surveillance for rodents and other species.
• Assist with veterinary assessments and animal health procedures.
• Support rodent sentinel health and monitoring programs.
• Perform necropsy and other diagnostic or clinical procedures.
• Communicate lab and animal health information to researchers.
• Draft and maintain SOPs and related documentation.
• Provide training and support to laboratory staff.
• Support veterinarians and research teams with health and research projects.
• Help with administrative tasks and general program support.
• Maintain accurate documentation while following safety and confidentiality rules.

Location San Francisco, United States Sector Science & Research Salary $30.00 to $34.00 per hour

We are seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (Animal Research) to support animal health, welfare, and research programs within a laboratory animal research environment in San Francisco. The position will provide hands‑on support for veterinary and research activities involving primarily rodents, with potential exposure to other animal species. Candidates must be flexible to travel between San Francisco facilities as needed using an employer-provided shuttle.

Location: San Francisco, CA

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Recent Vet Tech/RVT graduates, veterinary assistants, laboratory research assistants, and candidates with science-related backgrounds are encouraged to apply

• Previous laboratory, biomedical research, lab management, or animal husbandry experience

• Must be interested in potentially converting to a permanent position following the contract period
