Yoh, a Day & Zimmermann company, seeks a Registered Veterinary Technician (Animal Research) to support animal health and research programs in a San Francisco laboratory setting. The role involves hands-on work with rodents and possibly other species, with travel between SF facilities as needed using an employer-provided shuttle.

The position is onsite with standard hours and a potential for conversion to a permanent role based on performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Recent Vet Tech/RVT graduates, veterinary assistants, laboratory research assistants, and candidates with science-related backgrounds are encouraged to apply
• Anesthesia experience
• Previous laboratory, biomedical research, lab management, or animal husbandry experience
• Strong hands-on, documentation, communication, and organizational skills
• Comfortable working with rodents and potentially larger animal species
• Ability to follow SOPs, technical procedures, and established research protocols
• Flexibility to work between multiple San Francisco facilities
• Must be interested in potentially converting to a permanent position following the contract period

Responsabilités

• Conduct animal health surveillance for rodents and other assigned species
• Assist with veterinary assessments and animal health procedures
• Support rodent sentinel health and monitoring programs
• Perform and assist with necropsy and other diagnostic or clinical diagnostic techniques
• Communicate laboratory and animal health information to researchers
• Draft and maintain SOPs and related documentation
• Provide training and support to laboratory staff
• Support veterinarians and research teams with animal health and research projects
• Assist with administrative responsibilities and general program support as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation while following established quality, safety, and confidentiality requirements
