Job summary

SAGE Concord in Concord, CA is hiring a California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our Emergency & Critical Care team on a full-time basis. You’ll provide hands-on nursing care for emergency, hospitalized, and critically ill patients, supporting emergency surgical procedures during the swing shift with Veterinarians and Specialty teams.

Qualifications

• Current California RVT license required.
• Two or more years of veterinary clinical experience preferred.
• Emergency, Critical Care, ICU, Specialty, or high-volume hospital experience strongly preferred.
• Strong technical skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication and CRI calculations, anesthesia monitoring, CPR, and critical patient care.
• Confidence with anesthesia, sedation, and emergency surgical support.
• Ability to remain organized and responsive in a fast-paced Emergency environment.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Triage and provide advanced nursing care for Emergency and Critical Care patients.
• Serve as the primary Veterinary Technician for emergency surgical procedures during the swing shift.
• Assist veterinarians with patient assessments, stabilization, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, sample collection, and in-house diagnostics.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and CRIs as directed.
• Prepare, induce, monitor, and recover patients undergoing anesthesia and sedation.
• Monitor hospitalized and critical patients and quickly communicate changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with Emergency veterinarians, RVTs, Veterinary Assistants, and Specialty teams to provide exceptional patient care.

Registered Veterinary Technician

Up to $40.00/hour DOE + $5.50/hour shift differential for eligible hours worked between 6:00 PM–6:00 AM

Full-Time | Emergency & Critical Care
Sunday–Wednesday | 3:00 PM–1:00 AM | Four 10-Hour Shifts

SAGE Concord is hiring a California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our Emergency team.

You’ll provide hands-on nursing care for emergency, hospitalized, and critically ill patients while working alongside experienced Emergency veterinarians and Specialty teams. This position also serves as the primary RVT supporting emergency surgical procedures during the swing shift.

What You Bring
