Job summary

Alliance Animal Health in Clayton, NC is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our urgent care team. This role involves patient restraint, lab work, imaging, anesthesia, and client communication in a fast-paced hospital environment.

  • Communicate treatment plans to clients clearly and accurately.
  • Maintain medical records and support hospital operations.

Pet accidents, illnesses, and injuries are all unfortunate and seem to always happen at the worst of times when primary care veterinarians are either closed or too busy to see the pet. For these reasons, we are excited to announce that our newPriority Pet Urgent Care of Clayton is now open!

We are available for urgent care pet needs 7 days a week from 4pm - 12pm. We're looking to hire the most compassionate, experienced, and qualified Veterinarians and support staff, to ensure the highest quality of medicine is provided. Our new building and state of the art equipment will provide our teams the space and tools they'll need to deliver the best in service and medicine for our community!

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

We're Looking For:

  • A Registered Veterinary Technician with an active licenserequired, 1+ year professional experience preferred but not required
  • Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
  • Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
  • Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
  • Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
  • Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture
  • Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
  • Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards
