Job summary

Priority Pet Urgent Care in Hermitage, TN seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our urgent care team. You will perform triage, sample collection, anesthesia monitoring, and imaging support, delivering compassionate care around the clock with safety at the forefront.

Qualifications

  • Active LVMT license required.
  • 1+ year professional experience preferred but not required.
  • Punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts.
  • Availability to work some weekends.
  • Excellent client communication and medical record management skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations.
  • Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques.
  • Proficiency in various sample collection methods (blood, urine, fecal, skin).
  • Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture.
  • Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying stability.
  • Administration of medications and communication of treatment plans with clients.
  • Surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.
  • Maintain safe, clean, and efficient hospital operations.

For these reasons, we are excited to announce that our new Priority Pet Urgent Care of Hermitage is now open! We are available for urgent care pet needs 7 days a week from 2 pm – 12 am midnight. We’re looking to hire the most compassionate, experienced, and qualified LVMTs to ensure the highest quality of medicine is provided. Job Description

Job duties include, but are not limited to: Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.


Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases. Qualifications

We're Looking For:


  • A Licensed Veterinary Technician with an active license required, 1+ year professional experience preferred but not required

  • Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts

  • Availability to work some weekends

  • Excellent client communication and medical record management skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations

  • Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques

  • Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens

  • Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture

  • Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring

  • Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards

Additional Information

Pay Range: $20 - $25/hr depending on experience level
