Job summary

Ochsner Health System Careers in Lafayette, LA seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support to patients from neonatal to geriatric. You will perform ABGs, monitor therapy, and document care per policy.

Required Associate’s degree with current state license as a Respiratory Therapist and BLS; ACLS within 90 days. Strong data entry, Windows skills and effective communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate or higher education in respiratory therapy or a related field.
• Active state license as a Respiratory Therapist; NBRC Credential.
• BLS required; ACLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced respiratory procedures per policy.
• Reviews and documents all clinical information for each patient.
• Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures including ABGs and patient assessments.
