Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform direct patient care across respiratory services and to collaborate with physicians on therapy effectiveness. The role requires NBRC RRT credential, active RCP license, and CoARC-approved education.

PALS may be required for ER assignments; ACLS is preferred. The position emphasizes hands-on patient care and teamwork within Mercy’s care delivery model.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Care program.
• Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• PALS may be required for ER assignments.
• Physical demands include lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs and occasional kneeling or crawling.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care according to physician orders.
• Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care.
• Performs duties as assigned.
