Position Summary

This role involves performing cardiopulmonary and neurological diagnostic studies and providing pulmonary therapies for inpatients and outpatients at Williamson Health.

Position Requirements
Formal Education / Training
  1. Earned a Cardio Respiratory Care diploma or degree; RRT certification preferred.
  2. Registered/Certified by NBRC or at least 1 year of Respiratory Care experience.
  3. TN State license with ABG endorsement.
  4. NRP, PALS, ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
  5. BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
Workplace Experience

Patient care delivery experience.

Equipment and Skills Training

Proficiency with network computer systems, blood gas machines, pulse oximetry, ventilators, EKG, Holter monitors, CPAP/BiPAP, PFT machines, bronchoscope, infant intubation, Meditech OE system.

Physical Environment

Office and clinical areas related to Respiratory Therapy.

Physical Effort
  1. Communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
  2. Stand and walk up to 12 hours a day.
  3. Lift up to 250 lbs with assistance.
Performance Standards
  1. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including data collection from the patient, family, and healthcare team.
  2. Develop individualized care plans, identify problems, set standards, and implement interventions.
  3. Administer and document medications and responses accurately, reporting abnormal or critical findings.
  4. Reassess patient condition, evaluate responses, communicate with the team, and adjust care plans as needed.
  5. Plan and deliver patient education, discharge planning, and post-discharge needs.
  6. Perform treatments and procedures independently, adhering to policies and competency assessments.
  7. Maintain a healing environment for patients and families.
  8. Monitor, maintain, and verify equipment and supplies.
  9. Manage adjunct airways and document changes correctly.
  10. Support staff development through orientation, training, and leadership responsibilities.
  11. Participate in departmental education and maintain position-specific qualifications.
