Position Summary

Perform cardiopulmonary and neurological diagnostic studies and provide pulmonary therapies for inpatients and outpatients at Williamson Health.

Position Requirements

Formal Education / Training:

1. Earned a Cardio Respiratory Care diploma or degree; RRT only.
2. Registered/Certified by the NBRC or 1 year of Respiratory Care experience.
3. Tennessee State license with ABG endorsement.
4. NRP, PALS, ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
5. BLS within 90 days of hire.

Workplace Experience: Patient Care Delivery

Equipment and Skills Training: Network Computer System, Blood Gas Machine, Pulse Oximetry, IPPB Machine, Ventilators, EKG, Holter Monitor, CPAP/BiPAP, PFT Machines, Bronchoscope, Infant Intubation, Meditech OE System.

Physical Environment: Office and related areas.

Physical Effort:

1. Communicates in English verbally and in writing.
2. Stand and walk up to 12 hours a day.
3. Lift up to 250 lbs with assistance.

Performance Standards

1. Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including data collection from patients, families, and healthcare team members.
2. Develop individualized care plans, identifying problems, standards, interventions, and outcomes.
3. Administer and document medications and responses accurately, reporting abnormal or critical findings.
4. Reassess patient conditions, evaluate responses, communicate with the care team, and modify care plans as needed.
5. Plan and deliver patient education, discharge planning, and post-discharge needs.
6. Operate treatments, procedures, and equipment independently, adhering to policies and competencies.
7. Maintain a healing environment for patients and families.
8. Monitor and maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring proper functioning and stock levels.
9. Manage adjunct airways and document orders accurately.
10. Support staff development, including training and orientation of respiratory personnel, and accept charge responsibilities.
11. Participate in departmental communications, educational programs, and in-services.
12. Maintain required qualifications specific to the position.
